Your Dream Home Cinema

You can experience breathtaking home cinema with the all-new LG Ultra Short Throw Laser 4K CineBeam HU85LA. Set up your own theater in any room around the house.

An Incomparable Visual Experience

Transform your home theater environment with a projection screen of up to 120 inches of 4K UHD resolution that's crisp, vivid and bright.

Realistic 4K Picture Quality

With an incredible 8.3 million pixels (3840 x 2160), and leveraging XPR* technology, the HU85LA CineBeam projector delivers impeccable precision and detail at four times the resolution of Full HD.

Ultimate Color Accuracy

Three channel laser technology with the addition of a red laser light source to a typical blue laser, supports wider color coverage while ensuring incredible color reproduction performances up to 12-bit.

3 Channel Laser with Wheel-less Tech

The HU85LA uses RGB separate primary colors, and can express a vivid picture with virtually no color loss compared to conventional projectors (DLP, Laser and Dual Laser) that use a color-wheel to reflect colors from one color light.

Ultra Short Throw Ratio

Just place the HU85LA a mere 7.2 inches away from any wall to create an impressive home cinema screen up to 120 inches* to enjoy a huge cinematic screen in nearly any room.

No Need For Blackout Curtains

The 2,700 ANSI Lumens brightness results in a gentle light, producing clear images in an indoor environment under ambient lighting conditions.

Faithful to The Original Picture

Previously, HDR Tone Mapping delivers identical picture quality as the average of full frames. As The HU85LA adopts HDR10 with Dynamic tone mapping, on a frame by frame basis, it can deliver optimized picture quality each frame.

More Fluid Action

The HU85LA with TruMotion technology, a type of video processing where animation frames are generated between existing frames, makes animation look and feel more fluid.

LG Projector Now Meets Intelligence

LG CineBeam with AI ThinQ has the Google Assistant, so you can control compatible smart home devices using just your voice. Create a center for your smart home and beyond.

The Smart way to Access Content

Zero Step Previews allows you to explore and enjoy a variety of TV shows and movies with a simple connection to your Wi-Fi network. Also, this improved OS will automatically organize your favorite content.

Simple Screen Adjustment

The HU85LA's image warping function allows you to set up an aligned, precise picture by fine-tuning 12 adjustment areas on the screen.

Versatile Connectivity

The wireless mirroring takes advantage of Miracast® to project content from mobile devices onto a large projection screen. It can also be paired with Bluetooth enable audio products as well as support many other common connectivity options*.

Innovative Minimalist Design

HU85LA's sophisticated and compact design is inspired to luxuriously and seamlessly blend into your home. Also, it creates the cinematic atmosphere with powerful built-in speakers.

Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Electronics can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new electronics should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. Best UST Projector available

STJ1 2/12/2020

I first purchased the less expensive brands. They had edge warping issues and central focus with extremely fuzzy edges. I finally purchased the HU85 and all those issues are gone. This is brighter sharper and smarter than the others. I have it coupled with an XY ALR PET Crystal at 110 and it is leaps and bounds better. It is comparable with my 65 Samsung 4K except the HDR 4K videos resemble OLED motion. The image is not as vibrant as a LED or OLED in the daytime but 110 at night with a movie or Netflix destroys any TV. For daytime use with the ALR screen and casual viewing it is perfectly fine as i dont watch meaningful content during the day if i do i just draw the blinds and instant home theater.

Great product worn package remote battery missed

michael777 12/12/2019

ordered a new one from the authorized dealer online. the package box is some worn. And I can not find the remote battery pack in the package. The user manual says the battery is included. The dealer double confirm its not an open box. Dealer says its not abnormal that the batter is missing. Dealer refers the package is packed in LG factory. Dealer says this is not qualified for the exchange.

No YoutubeTV...for $6k are you kidding me

Disappointed601609 11/26/2019

Product seems to be of good quality but not supporting YoutubeTV is a joke. If I spend $6000 for a product I dont expect to have to go out and buy a $30 chromecast just so I can watch TV. Typical LG tvs support YoutubeTV so the engineers need to figure this out ASAP and push through the necessary software update. Otherwise I will be returning this product. I called LG support and they blamed YoutubeTV Google. I called YoutubeTV and they blamed LG...everyone passes the buck so typical of people these days

Great projector

MikeCP 11/26/2019

This an amazing product. A great TV replacement. Picture looks very good. Its easy to setup except it can be a little tricky to get perfectly symmetrical sides. It could use another HDMI port or two as it only has two. But that isnt a huge issue. Everything else works well. Except I havent been able to setup the projector with Google Assistant. LG Customer Service representative that I talked to told me that even though Google Assistant works on an iPhone it wont be compatible with the projector and that only Android devices will work with the projector. So apparently all of the smart functions of the projector wont work for us unless we have android phones. At least according to the representative I spoke with but she also was fairly rude and disconnected the call when she could no longer answer my questions.

Great Projector

AdamSFbay 11/18/2019

I bought the projector 2 weeks ago. Setup was fairly straightforward and as easy as can be expected for a short throw projector. Picture quality and color accuracy are fantastic. It runs quietly and I can not hear any fan noise if I have the volume up at a reasonable level. So far I have not had any technical issues of any type. I have 2 small complaints. First the hdmi ARC does not support eARC which is silly because the hardware can do it and it is just LG needing to update firmware. Second for whatever reason LG didnt use the same webOS as is on their better TVs and so disney plus is not supported or even listed in the LG marketplace. I feel like this is an issue that could be resolved and I find it an irritating oversight in a 6 thousand dollar item. That being said I am very happy with the projector so far. It truly looks amazing. The sound quality was fine better than most/all TVs by a longshot. However the low end sound is a little lacking. I chose to disable the speaker and pair the projector with a 7.1.4 soundsystem and I imagine most people will want to do the same.

Beautifully flawed

Claywd 7/30/2019

Pre-ordered on Amazon before they removed the listing. It arrived today As you might expect its incredibly sensitive to any waves at all so your screen needs to be fixed or top dollar tabbed tension. The throw from the top of the projector to the screen is 7 - 7 1/4. The colors really pop even in daylight. The issue.... the projector doesnt do 4K at 60hz. It only does 30hz. So its great if you want to watch a Blu-ray dvd tv or maybe their built in apps. Lets say you wanted to run an Xbox one S/X or hook up your computer? Well you can certainly run your computer and entertain yourself by watching your mouse drag all over the screen and the Xbox will literally just yell at you and tell you no. I could have bought a nicer screen but the 30hz B.S. is where I draw the line. This isnt 2012 weve got 4K figured out these days. They need to do better. Also the speaker kind of suck but a big improvement over years past. No base. Most people will hook up a surround anyways though.

Great design

Scolomo 7/2/2019

I have just looked at the you tube review from Korea I thought it looks amazing with the ambient light screen it really looks great. The price can be a little high but in a year or so it will become lower as with most new tech so if people cant afford it yet like myself you can wait for the next year plus it will give you time to see what the reviews are . At first when I had seen this on you tube from the 2019 CES I thought the picture could be brighter but I think with a good ambient light screen is what the set up needs and the Korean video is worth a look as mentioned by others because it shows the projector set up in different environments which really shows what its capabilities are. I would get one of these in a years time think .

My previous post which given only 1 star get removed. Thank to the LG web admin. If you need to filter all comment and only list comment that have 3-5 star why dont you just remove it from the system so that no one can select 1-2 star. To buyer who waited this for month. Korea LG has officially announce this few day back and selling price at around USD5k. The pre-order has been started with the free gift. Search youtube with HU85LA and filter it with the latest 1 month video. the video are all korean

Cant wait to get a new UST projector

Linh Nguyen 6/14/2019

Cant wait to update my current LG HF85JA to this new 4K UST projector. I did a lot of research before buying my current projector and it was the most affordable option with all features I need. No complaint for my current one but would love to have 4K projector in the basement and move my current one to our bedroom. I believe once the price releases later this year it will be the most affordable for its kind.

I cant wait to get ahold of this unit. Ive owned 2 other LG projectors and loved both. 720 and 1080 combined with the smart TV made home a movie theater. Promising specs but still unclear on 3d support

TDH32 6/3/2019

This could be a cinephiles dream depending on the launch price but one thing that is yet to be clarified is whether this will support 3d blu ray. Whilst 3d TVs have pretty much died out for many many reasons - including coming too soon in the updgrade cycle on the heels of HDTV a number of poor early post-conversions and lacklustre implementation in mid-range and early TVs 3d on a home theatre projector is an entirely different kettle of fish as the technology is much more impactful when viewed on larger screen sizes. Its also worth bearing in mind that even now 3d blu ray releases continue to come out including the likes of Alita Battle Angel Aquaman and Captain Marvel and many blu ray enthusiasts have extensive libraries that include 3d titles which they continue to enjoy including most of the MCU films kids movies from studios like Illumination Despicable Me DreamWorks How to Train Your Dragon and Disney/Pixar Monsters Inc Toy Story Coco Beauty and the Beast Lion King etc and a number of other titles which really benefit from 3d Life of Pi Avatar Gravity Hugo Kong Skull Island Ready Player One Terminator 2 Titanic - to name a few. It would therefore be a shame if fans of the format are forced to chose between 4K UHD and 3D blu ray going forwards. I love my Optoma GT5000+ but would love to trade up to a 4K laser based UST but still be able to watch all of my content. Yes 3d bd is niche but then so are black and white films and I find it hard to fathom how anyone would begrudge the LG HU85L supporting black and white blu rays like The Seventh Seal or Metropolis even if you didnt watch such films yourself.

Am I correct still lack of HDMI 2.x?

rtpxff 5/17/2019

Can you clarify me how it will utilise HDR10 while eg. gaming from PC? According to my best knowledge it still wont be possible to do that via included HDMI 1.x and Miracast.

LG thanks for the demo. Paired easily with my sub. Sound was surprisingly good. Add a ambient light rejecting screen and this product soars. Look for the full review on my channel.

Please release retail price ASAP

Projectorman1019 5/12/2019

Ive been anticipating the release of the HU85LA since NAB 2019. Its now mid-May and there is still no price available even though all previous models have been reduced. I think I speak for everyone when I say Im happy to wait for this product as long as the retail price is released ASAP and demo models loaned to reliable content creators for review.
